Can I have a private room?

If your Insurer covers the cost of a private room, we will endeavour to accommodate your request. Private rooms are allocated on a medical needs basis.

What costs are involved?

You will be informed before admission if you need to pay an excess or co-payment. Newspapers, STD, international, mobile phone calls and personal laundry will all incur a small charge. You may receive a bill for items such as pharmacy, blood tests or X-rays should you require these while you are at MetroRehab.

How long can I stay?

During your admission, your doctor will discuss your estimated length of stay with you.

What are the meals like?

Our wholesome menu is prepared onsite using only the freshest ingredients. Our Head Chef is happy to meet with you to discuss any dietary preferences.

What other therapies do you offer?

Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Music Therapy, Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Dietary Dietetics, Speech Pathology, and Hydrotherapy.

What are the visiting hours?

Visiting hours are from 3.00pm to 8.00pm on weekdays and 12 noon to 8.00pm on weekends.  Visiting times are strictly adhered to. This ensures our patients are fully engaged in their rehabilitation programs.

Do you have parking?

There is free onsite parking as well as ample free parking on side streets around the hospital.

How do I get to MetroRehab on public transport?

The 428 bus from Central Station to Canterbury via Newtown stops directly outside the hospital. MetroRehab is approximately 800 metres walk from Petersham train Station.

Do you have an Emergency Department?

No. The closest Emergency Department is located at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Camperdown.

Can my family and/or I have a tour of the hospital before I come in?

Yes. Please call our reception during weekday business hours on (02) 8585 4900 if you would like to make an appointment to tour the hospital.

How do I get referred for rehabilitation?

Your GP can contact us for a referral form, can visit our website for an online referral form ordownload and complete our online referral form.

If you are in hospital, one of your health care providers (i.e. Doctor / Nurse / Social Worker / Physiotherapist) can fill in our online referral form for inpatients or our online referral form for Day rehabilitation program.

Your specialist or GP can also download and complete our referral form for inpatients or our referral form for Day rehabilitation program.

Once we have received your referral, we will contact either you or the referring hospital to organise your pre-admission assessment.
