COVID-19 Guidelines

We’re Here for You

The health and well-being of our clients and staff is our priority. MetroRehab Hospital is following the COVID-19 guidelines of NSW Health.

Attention Visitors

With increasing transmission rates across the State and the impact of the Omicron variant of concern, NSW Health has determined that visits to healthcare facilities should be restricted whenever possible to assist with protecting patients, visitors and staff from COVID-19.

Until otherwise advised, the following visitor restrictions will apply:

  • Only essential visitors who actively provide care or physical and/or emotional support may enter the hospital.
  • Every patient is asked to identify one essential care visitor during their hospital stay.
  • The number of visitors within the hospital at any given time will be limited to minimise potential exposure and transmission risks.
  • Allowed visits may only occur between 3pm and 8pm. However, on 25 & 26 December, and 1 January, visiting hours will be extended to 12noon to 8pm.

Family and friends are encouraged to keep in touch with patients via telephone or video call.

All essential visitors must:

  • be at least 12 years of age (or apply for a special circumstance exemption)
  • sign in using the Service NSW QR code or other appropriate entry procedure
  • provide evidence of having received two (2) doses of a TGA approved COVID-19 vaccine
  • not be experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms (runny nose, sore throat, dry cough, temperature above 37.5oC, loss of taste/smell)
  • have not been identified as a close contact of a COVID-19 case in the past 14 days
  • are not waiting for a COVID-19 test result
  • have not returned from overseas in the last 14 days

Visitors who are authorised to enter must agree to always wear a properly fitted mask during the visit and follow any other advice from staff.

If a visitor is showing any symptoms, they must not enter the hospital and they should be instructed to attend a COVID-19 clinic for assessment.

Please note these guidelines may change at any time.
