We are seeking a weekend Physiotherapist to join our Physiotherapy team as we grow our 7 day rehabilitation service. Working within the Allied Health Department, the successful candidate will maintain a mixed clinical caseload on the inpatient rehabilitation unit.

Your main duties will include:

  • Assessment, treatment and case management of a mixed caseload of patients, including neurological, orthopedic and reconditioning patients
  • Working as part of the physiotherapy and multidisciplinary teams; and
  • Coordinating handover between weekend and weekday staff to ensure a seamless 7 day service.

We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with:

  • A degree in Physiotherapy with current AHPRA registration and minimum 1 year postgraduate experience
  • Excellent communication skills and a can do attitude
  • Previous experience working within a multidisciplinary team desirable
  • Previous experience working within private hospital or rehabilitation environment desirable

The purpose of the Registered Nurse role is to care for and assist patients in their rehabilitation treatment and supervise the activities of the Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing with their nursing care.

Your main duties will include:

  • Providing patient care within the inpatient rehabilitation setting.
  • Promoting the development of therapeutic relationships with the aim of facilitating the patient’s rehabilitation goals.
  • Supporting the objectives and philosophy of the hospital.
  • Contributing to the person’s rehabilitation goals in accordance with MetroRehab Hospital’s vision, purpose and values.

We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with:

  • AHPRA registration and 1 year post graduate experience
  • Previous Rehabilitation /surgical/ medical/ experience
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills
  • Commitment to quality improvement, practice development and evidence based practice
  • Good organizational and time management skills

  • Level 3 Certificate and /or 2 years’ experience as an AIN and/or undergraduate nursing student

AFRM Training Registrar position:

We are offering Rehabilitation Registrar training positions accredited with the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM)

Metro has teaching affiliations with the University of Technology Sydney, Newcastle University and Sydney University. Registrar duties involve the medical management of 37 patients shared between 2 positions and is well supported by five Rehabilitation Physicians, a Rheumatologist, and a Geriatrician. The hospitals case mix is stroke, neurological, orthopedic, geriatric, cardiac and cancer rehabilitation. The position is required to be on call and may on occasions be available for Saturday overtime. VMOs look after all ‘On Call’ requirements otherwise. Trainees have a great opportunity to be involved in an excellent teaching program and Research Module during their term.

Qualifications:

MBBS Current APHRA Registration & Completed at least 2 years post graduate training.
