Assistant in Nursing

Dynamic individuals sought for the role of Assistant in Nursing . The purpose of the Assistant in Nursing role is to care for and assist patients in their rehabilitation treatment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role supports the Registered Nurse in delivering patient centred care.

You will be supported by Senior Registered Nurses, Nursing Unit Manager, Education Coordinator and a Director of Nursing.

Essential Criteria

  • Level 3 Certificate and/or 2 years experience as an AIN and/or undergraduate Nursing student
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with working in a multidisciplinary team

Casual Exercise Physiologist

We are seeking an ESSA registered Exercise Physiologist ESSA to join our dynamic team, working with a variety of patients including hydrotherapy.

The role is available on a casual basis, Monday – Saturday. MetroRehab Hospital’s Allied Health Department treats a mixed caseload of neurological, orthopaedic and reconditioning patients. The Exercise Physiologist’s caseload will be within the Day Program and inpatients.

To be successful in this role you must:

• Hold a Degree in Exercise Physiology
• ESSA accreditation (required)
• Hydrotherapy experience
• Previous rehabilitation experience with joint replacement, stroke and reconditioning patients
• Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Allied Health Assistant

We are seeking an experienced casual Allied Health Assistant to join our dynamic team. The Allied Health Assistant role includes escorting patients to and from the gym for sessions; assisting the qualified therapists in the delivery of rehabilitation programs and delivering simple practice programs to patients under supervision.

To be successful in this role you require:

• A solid understanding of rehabilitation and the role of physiotherapy
• Previous rehabilitation experience.
• Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team is preferable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence in patient manual handling principles and your own personal limitations.

Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance would be highly regarded, physiotherapy or occupational therapy students welcome.
